Alan Edwards

I begin the creative process with either a scribble, found image, or a feeling etc. In order to remain focused I proceed by concentrating on the formal aspects of the work in hand. Formal aspects of colour, tone, form, texture, process, composition, etc. By doing this I am presented with a series of problems that require a solution.

Hopefully the work begins to flow and, in a sense, forms and makes itself. To lose oneself in the making process is for me a vital part of the creative act. I believe this allows the creative to flow through the artist.

Each individual piece of work is part of one ever growing piece of work that will continue to grow and change.
