TOUCH: with organic and scientific themes underpinning my work, it is predominantly a celebration of the detail in the everyday and particularly commenting on the combinations and coincidences which only happen in a single moment. People, objects and ideas moving together, and in doing so producing something unique in that moment of simple touch. I explore the role of touch within our lives and the parallels to printmaking and how this brings the focus to the present and the now. It is an exploration of mindfulness in art.
I explore nature’s intricate and recurring shapes, colours and patterns and overlay textures with illustrations. Producing work from a combination of elements which will never be repeated in the exact same way again. The ink is truthful and pure, the hand guides the result. My work celebrates the differences in-between and celebrates the positive aspects to widening the diversity in our lives.
