Andrew Jenkin

Andrew Jenkin is a watercolour artist and tutor. He enjoys working outdoors, visiting a location many times to make compositional sketches, tonal studies, and colour notes. A large painting is then gradually created in his studio. He uses watercolour washes in a very loose style, which gives unpredictable and often spectacular results.

He has taught watercolour painting for over 15 years, and in 2021 he featured on BBC1’s ‘The Apprentice’, teaching the contestants how to lead a watercolour painting class on a tour of Snowdonia.  He runs regular watercolour classes, and has written articles about watercolour painting for ‘Paint’ magazine. In 2012 he was shortlisted for ‘Artist of the Year’ by Artist & Illustrators magazine.

Andrew has exhibited work throughout the UK, and several of his paintings have received Highly Commended awards at Royal Cambrian Academy Open exhibitions.
