My work starts with the drawn line using pencil and chalks. Recent developments have used acrylic paints, water based oils, pastel and experiments with egg tempera.
Repeating themes, especially in the year of lockdowns, have been seeing and recording local bodies of water; the river, the sea and the lake created by the landscaping of the municipal waste tip. Abstracted shapes and lines might result in map-like images of movement, reflection and light on water.
I would like to think that my work bears something of my experience of seeing, resting the gaze then travelling, to the person viewing the drawing, painting.
