The joy of working with clay began late for me (on retirement) with initial inspiration coming from lessons at Mons Ceramics – by which time I was hooked. Converting an old garage into a studio came next. Now I mainly slab build and use both earthenware and stoneware clays depending on the final use of each piece.
I like my pieces to be tactile with clean, pleasing lines and love experimenting with rich glaze combinations and different coloured clays. I tend to make items linked to my other interests in bonsai, succulents and flowers but my style and range are constantly evolving as I discover and master the never ending complexities of working with clay.
My aim is to have fun making functional/decorative objects which bring pleasure and show the wonderful nature of clay and its endless possibilities. I currently sell to friends, by commission and at local craft fairs and exhibit with Deeside Art Group and Heswall Art Group
