Twenty years ago I studied Graphic Design, but ended up with a degree in ecology. Now I am an ecologist, printmaker, and black pen artist. My love for our natural world has a prominent place in my work, especially birds. I love the unforgiving nature of lino and pen, and that I have to think carefully about what marks I am making and what the result will look like, which with printmaking is always a surprise. I also like to experiment with other printmaking techniques, like printing with lego tiles. Recently I have been making mini collages of my prints that did not meet quality control, and am really enjoying searching for textures, contrast and making new work from “scraps”.
I have exhibited my work both in solo and group exhibitions as part of the Windsor Artists Collective and the Reading Guild of Artists.
