Elaine Hackett

I studied illustration and worked as an illustrator for a number of years producing book illustrations and greetings cards for such clients as Klutz, Fortnum and Mason, Selfridges and John Lewis Partnership. I then began to produce artwork to sell directly to the customer which I enjoy very much.
My work is inspired by nature and the local areas of Wirral and Liverpool, it has a clean, contemporary and whimsical quality with a strong sense of fun and character to the animals and the places portrayed within it. I use a subtle yet colourful palette in acrylic paint on paper and from those paintings I produce giclee prints both framed and unframed.

For my original pieces I use an unusual mixed media style of working in which I incorporate ceramic elements into my paintings to create relief originals in box frames. I also create decorative hangings.
