Elaine Hackett

From an early age I have had a keen interest in nature which strongly influences my work, memories of childhood holidays on farms and by the sea have long been an inspiration to me. I now live in a cottage backing onto a nature reserve not far from the sea giving me endless ideas for artwork.

I studied art and design, graphic design and specialised in illustration. I have produced a wide variety of work including book illustration and greeting cards. My work has a clean and whimsical quality, my acrylic paintings feature wildlife as the main focal point capturing their character and sense of fun. From these paintings I produce a wide range of prints.

In my original artwork I incorporate ceramic elements using a process I have developed myself, this technique brings a unique and interesting feel to the pieces. I have sold my work nationally and internationally to such clients as Fortnum and Mason, Selfridges and John Lewis Partnership as well as many other shops and galleries.
