Gail Eglin

I trained in Fine Art (Painting and Printmaking), was an artist/teacher/exhibition organiser many moons ago! I retrained as a Psychotherapist. Since retiring last April I have been able to re-focus and return to creative practice; inspired by the idea of journeys, and the multi-sensory experience of coastal walking; the smell of saline, the sound of seabird chatter, feeling different textures underfoot, the sight of landscape rolling into the ocean.

I use a variety of media to represent these experiences; paint, inks, fibres. Growing up in the house of a printer, paper and print was ever present and still remains central in all that I do, whether applied with printing inks or torn and soaked for to become shaped into a ‘nest’ or ‘backpack’. In doing this, I intend to convey an emotional response to the nature that has moved me.
