I have enjoyed my time since I became a resident of Wellington Road Art Studios; having a space here has allowed me to get lost in the formulation of an idea and to see it materialise into a painting.
I have used a variety of mediums over the years. I love both to experiment over time with oils and the immediacy of acrylics. I also love to use bits and pieces to make collages and I had one of my collages featured in last year’s Williamson Open exhibition. I used this technique in a series of greetings cards that sold well at our Studio Christmas Open. I painted two dining chairs for a commission recently of my own versions of Alice in Wonderland and Beauty and the Beast with hand-painted cushions to match.
