Jean Maskell

I am a multi-disciplinary artist and writer using paint, clay, photography and words to explore themes.

I have taken part in over twenty exhibitions and am a published writer in national media.
In recent years my work has focussed on the natural world; industrial and maritime heritage; social and political equality, and Irish history and culture.

My aim is to create communication with the viewer or reader that is accessible and understandable; that communicates a feeling or message.
Recently I have been exploring the theme of ‘the space between’ – impressionistic and abstract work exploring perceptions of possibility and hope evoked by sensory experiences of spaces where sky, sea and land meet. Travel, emigration, loss, possibility and adventure, along with the more ethereal relationships of the sea, sky and land all feature.

My work is available in Merseyside, in Salford and in Ireland. I also donate pieces to charitable ventures.
