I enjoy exploring themes using poetry and short stories to add to the stories told by my art, sculpture and photography. Always interested in social justice, industrial heritage and women’s issues, I aim to create a deeper understanding of the untold aspects of history. I continue to work on ceramics relating to local shipbuilding and maritime heritage and in the past year have also taken part in exhibitions raising awareness of the plight of refugees.
Irish history, landscape and legend is an expanding area of work and I have exhibited paintings and photography in Ireland this past year.
At this year’s Open Studio, I will be exhibiting some of my Irish photography with supporting poetry and also previewing a collaborative short animation of a poem commemorating the 100 year anniversary of the death of Wilfred Owen and the end of World War One.
