Having been home more, I’ve had the opportunity to regularly sketch outdoors and this has changed my approach to my painting, giving me a deeper sense of connection to nature. Observing with awe and wonder the precious passing of time in the landscape, punctuated daily by dawn and dusk, I have responded with a playful, intuitive exploration to celebrate these ephemeral moments.
Not restricting myself to any one medium, I have experimented with Pleinair pastels, inky seawater fluid paints, and richly textured oils with cold wax. Paintings on upcycled and found objects as well as canvas, board and paper reflect my creative, open, instinctive approach and lead to diverse work.
Complimenting my paintings, I create earthy, tactile jewellery using nature’s treasures and palette. Having run a successful Art Gallery since 2009, I have relocated to a home studio where I offer art therapy/counselling/tuition.
