Julie is a selected artist for the Homo Faber Guide for international craftsmanship and is a member of the British Tapestry Group. She has twice been selected for the Kate Derum Award Australia and her community projects have been exhibited at the Tate Modern and the Lancashire Textile Biennial.
As well as creating tapestries Julie has been teaching for many years in galleries and museums including running masterclasses and workshops for Cambridge University’s Kettle’s Yard Gallery. Julie has been a mentor for Masters students from Goldsmiths College and Edinburgh colleges of art. Her work uses vibrant colours using ideas around memory and sense of place and the world around as well as exploring the joy to be had in the process of making.
There will be hand-dyed yarns and fibres for sale as well as a selection of dye plants. Light refreshments will be available and live music!
