Karen is an accomplished landscape photographer who enjoys working with digital and film cameras to create her art. She finds the immersive behaviours behind landscape photography alluring in the way she can remove herself from normal daily activities and simply become one with the natural world around her, composing scenes filled with light, depth and meaning.
Karen also enjoys the process of film photography and has a small collection of old film cameras. For the past several years she has dedicated time to experimental photography using different methods to create images with and without the use of a camera. She has an ongoing project using and abusing Polaroid film to create a collection of unique images of decay which are quite beautiful in their destruction.
Going into 2023 Karen has committed to producing several new portfolio pieces putting into practice the knowledge she has gained while studying new techniques and skills from other photographers she admires.
