Karen Lawrence is a photographer deeply rooted in the landscapes and light of the Wirral, particularly the coastal charm of its seaside towns.
Her artistic journey, which has spanned over two decades, began with a passion for art that evolved into a profound way of life through photography. Karen’s work is characterised by an appreciation for the nuances of light, which she masterfully employs to imbue her images with both mindfulness, reflection, emotion and atmosphere.
In recent years, Karen has embarked on a path of artistic exploration, aiming to expand her creative practices beyond familiar territories. This involves learning new techniques and discovering new locations within the countryside, pushing the boundaries of her photographic vision. Her recent project, photographing the coastal areas around the Wirral during the summer weeks culminated in a body of work and a limited print zine ‘Wirral Waterside’.
