Kate Bigley is a visual artist based at Make Hamilton, working across drawing, painting and installation. Much of her practice is commission-based and often involves community projects, allowing her work and processes to evolve while keeping drawing at the centre. Her practice is rooted in an exploration of line and space, and for Kate, making offers a chance to slow down, observe and connect. She thrives on the challenge of using line to convey the character and narrative of a live subject. Through installation, she is able to take drawing into the 3D realm, using architectural and structural elements to reimagine and transform a space.
