Kirstie Goulding

I began my art studies as a mature student and graduated in 2014 with a BA (Hons) Fine Art (1:1) from Wirral Metropolitan College. Since then, I work from home in my Hoylake attic studio. I enjoy taking an active part in local art groups and exhibitions. I am a member of the West Kirby Art Group and Wirral Society of Arts.

Since graduating, my work has often focused upon local architecture and still life as a starting point. I like to use fantasy landscapes/objects and continue to be interested in the use of pattern, repetition, and colour. I usually create my small paintings in ‘flat’ acrylic and ink. More recently, I have returned to the use of imaginary shapes and creatures to explore the fluidity of gender and sexuality. I remain keenly interested in the exploration of Queer Theory through my artistic practices.
