I grew up on the Wirral Peninsula and initially worked in healthcare and pharmaceutical market research in London and Toronto. However, my free time was spent creating art and the discovery of a bead shop in Notting Hill 30 years ago ignited my passion for jewellery making. I took part-time courses to learn different craft techniques and in 2003 gained a BA(Hons) degree in Art History.
In 2007 I established Explore Designs as the umbrella name for my jewellery, mosaics and artworks. This reflects my exploration of different media, techniques and disciplines. I have taken part in group exhibitions, workshops and also completed a number of individual commissions.
The inspiration for my jewellery designs comes from the infinite possibilities of combining different materials. During the Open Studios weekend I will be demonstrating some basic beading techniques, hopefully inspiring visitors to take up the fascinating craft of jewellery making.
