My wish to work with glass was initially fulfilled when I realised it was a medium which was far more accessible than I had at first realised. As I learned more I was amazed at the many ways fused glass could be manipulated and kiln worked.
Over the past 8 years my experience with fusing and displaying glass has progressed and deepened. I now confidently use my hand made ceramic bases to display my glass. The ceramics create depth to certain art glass pieces, appearing as three-dimensional pieces which are unique in themselves.
I have taken on small commissions from private buyers, which has also expanded my experience, due to trying new techniques to create the finished glass I have been asked to develop.
Late in 2017 I offered ‘taster’ sessions to give others an opportunity to try this specific art medium. 2018 already feels like a great year for new opportunities.
