Mark Francis & Clive Bruder
Sew Newbo Studios was set up in 2025 by Mark Francis and Clive Bruder after moving to New Brighton the year before. Mark was a quarter finalist on The Great British Sewing Bee series 6 and Clive runs the Boys Sew Too movement and WeSewToo brand.
Sew Newbo Studios is here to bring the craft of sewing and needlework to the Wirral community through workshops and courses held in New Brighton. Workshops include shirt making, quilting, regular social sessions and introduction to sewing, to name a few.
Mark and Clive together hold regular talks about their work all over the country, teach at a variety of sewing shows and events, have their own range of sewing patterns and fabrics as well as taking on commissions to make original tailored garments for customers all over the world. Clive worked on the stunning Terrance Higgins’s Memorial Quilt which regularly tours the country and Mark has made garments for celebrity clients and the BBC.
On display will be a collection of garments, soft furnishings and other items made by Mark & Clive including Marks GBSB makes, quilts, samples from their sewing pattern range and replica Dr Who costumes. You can take part in quick projects on the day with free motion embroidery and other mindful makes.
