I have taught art for more than 30 years in schools, colleges and universities. I am now concentrating fully on developing my own practice. During my PhD at Goldsmiths I worked in film and mixed media to document and interrogate the relationship between the artist/mother and the subject/daughter when pregnant. Throughout my MA Artist Teacher course at LJMU I explored installation and digital media alongside more traditional illustrative media.
I work in both two and 3D media, creating film, using desktop image editing alongside embroidering, painting and felting surfaces, stitching and installing, exhibiting and curating. I have exhibited widely in Cumbria and have worked teaching art at Carlisle College, Birkenhead 6th Form College, LJMU and at the University of Chester. I was commissioned to create a set of large silk hanging banners for the entrance of Liverpool John Mores University.
